OOC Rules


I. Respect. This is the most important rule to have ever existed. If you don't respect others, whether they are new members or old, you will receive your punishment. If you show disrespect to any staff member, I'm sorry, you'll have to go.

II. No "n3tsp34k" or "txt tlk" is tolerated, IC or OOC. If you want to show off your lovely "number=letter" skills, thanks but no thanks. We don't need such members here. Please, we are a moderate to advanced site.

III. Everything must be kept clean. No racism comments. No sexism ones either. Nothing about others' religions whatsoever. No pornography. I cannot stress this enough. There are pure minds roaming around, for goodness sake. Do not pollute them.

IV. No obscenities, either, come to think of it. Curses such as "crap" and "holy shit" are allowed, but no more than that. However, if you swear in asterisks, our replace these words with Warrior swearing terms such as "Foxdung", it is alright. Again, the rationale is the same as the previous one.

V. No art theft. All artwork not made by you must be credited, and do not touch any copyrighted material. Ever. If possible, ask permission before using graphics made by others. Alternatively, for a picture of your kitties, we have localised graphic studios.

VI. Graphics must be no longer than 350 pixels wide and 300 pixels tall. Page-stretching pictures must be confined to links.

VII. If you registered, you must be active. Once you have registered, you must post your biography in seven days, unless you have stated beforehand, via a Windwhisper (WW) to me, that you are A) away due to unforeseen circumstances or B) a perfectionist who must take up to a month or so to produce a bio. In the latter, though I still expect you to be actively participated in OOC activities.

VIII. Fighting will not be tolerated. If you have something between you and another member, take it to WWs. Best of all, don't fight at all. Leave it; just walk away. It will show how much more mature you are than the other one.

IX. No double-posting. If you want to make amends to a previous post, edit it in the same post. Only Guests, if they make a mistake in an advertisement post, are allowed to double-post, and Staff members.



Violators of these rules will be:

A) Given a 10% warning
B) Given another 20% (so now 30% altogether)
C) Given another 30% (60% now)
D) Banned for a week
E) Banned for one month
F) Banned permanently and fed to Kaitos if sighted again.

I. The Clans follow a certain hierarchy. If you are disrespectful to one of a superior position than you, you will have to suffer the IC consequences.

II. Leaders and deputies are the heads in the Clan. The leader has the last say in everything, and if s/he is not here, the deputy will be the temporary leader. If both are absent, then the senior warriors will form a congress. The leader and deputy are both allowed to have mates and kits, though it is extremely inconvenient to the Clan and themselves.

III. Medicine cats are essential in every Clan. They are the ones who connect Past, Present and Future. They are the links between the dead and the alive. They provide spiritual guidance as well as physical support for the ill. So what I'm driving at is: any Clan without a medicine cat won't last very long. Of course, this being a new site now, it doesn't exactly apply. The medicine cat also cannot mate and kit.

IV. Usually, violators of the Warrior Code will be driven out of the Clans. These cats form the bulk of the rogues as they usually are negative towards the Clans due to their exile. Exiled cats are usually killed on sight, so they rarely venture into the Clan grounds.

V. Clan cats do not trespass on other Clans' borders. Never. They keep to their own side of the borders, and even if their prey ran over, they hardly follow this prey. Only when an attack is sprung would a Clan cat boldly cross the borders.

VI. Clans must maintain peace during Gatherings, which are held every full moon night. If not, StarClan will punish them, and this is extremely undesirable.

VII. Medicine cats share tongues with StarClan every half-moon night at the Moonbeam. They walk in the dreams of each other, often progressing as a group: the Shadowed Lands border on the Starfield.

VIII. The Starfield is where the StarClanners roam, and the Shadowed Lands are ruled by evil spirits who failed to enter StarClan. These two groups are constantly battling. Prophecies say that if the Shadowed Cats took over StarClan, life as we know it will be gone.

IX. The Clan cats look to StarClan for guidance every time something goes wrong, however foolish it may sound. Keep this in mind when role-playing.

I. Posting length must be at least two well-written paragraphs. Alternatively, 200 words per IC post. We are a moderate-to-advanced site, and if you can't keep up, you must join one of the RP Academies or drop out. The latter is extremely undesirable, though. :3

II. Please take good care of your grammar, spelling and punctuation. I recommend the Spell Check button or that you type your post out on Microsoft Word/text-editing programme. It reduces the number of grammatical and spelling mistakes. Also, take note that there is almost always spacing behind a punctuation mark, like there's a space after the "," just now. No spacing after an opening quote, though, and none after the apostrophe.

III. Very important rule: No copying of characters. Make your kitties original: no characters based off others' ones, be it one from a book, a cartoon show, a comic book, or just off a web-based picture.

IV. If you want to mate, do it privately. No graphic scenes. Same goes for birthing. We don't want to know what Dust did to Snow during one of their love-meetings. Same goes for births.

V. Kits become apprentices by the sixth, latest seventh, moon, apprentices are made warriors no less than at fifteen moons of age, and warriors retire to be elders at 120 moons. The retiring rule does not apply to leaders, however.

VI. Leaders and Deputies are very important positions. To be a leader, a cat must have shown, consistently, that s/he is capable of leading the Clan and taking care of important matters, and likewise for the position of deputy. A 25-moon warrior is not very likely going to be made a leader. Face the truth: most leaders were previously deputies, and before that, senior warriors. So they're usually around 60, 70 moons of age. And not every deputy is ambitious like Tigerstar; they would have to pass the loyalty test first, and are usually very trusted by the leader. They want the best for the Clan. They don't overthrow their leaders like Tigerstar does. Take note of this when you're applying for a leadership position.

VII. If you have decided to end the life of one of your characters, you must do it IC. No just stating, "OMG I don't want to RP Dust anymore so okay he died yay" in an OOC thread. Make sure you RP it out. Let Dust fall off a cliff, die in a battle, eat some Twoleg poison and die, whatever.

VIII. Also, if you are going to kill/cause permanent injury to another person's character, you must obtain permission from them OOC and state so in the post(s) where this act occurs.
